Vegetable Gardening

Jag asked:


I have a lot of weeds grounds around my orange and cherry trees and near my vegetable garden even though the area is mulched. Is roundup safe to use? Will it hurt my vegetable plants or trees? Roundup will be applied atleat 2 feet away from my vegetable garden.

I just got up close to the soil to pick some weeds and I noticed little black aunts all over the soil. I assume this is a problem and they will eat the vegetables, right?

What do I do about it? I was so heartbroken since I was so excited about my first garden. Will these little guys ruin my garden?

I have heard that Roundup breaks down and has no effect on the soil like 2,4D and other herbicides.
