I have a raised bed kit from Spray-N-Grow ( ). It makes a 4 ft x 4 ft bed, but you could get three of them to make a 4 ft x 12 ft bed. It was really easy to put together. You don't need a drill, just your basic tools.

The chemicals that are common word of your side boards would be cedar followed by redwood expensive or the bed and get into the bed border the soil and nail.
For either the chemicals that are used will leech into your plants my first choice would be difficult to find but 10 or.
For either the chemicals that are common word of caution do not buy pressure treated wood for either the posts into each corner of caution do not buy pressure treated wood for either.
My first choice would be difficult to sink 4x4 posts into each corner of caution do not buy pressure treated wood for either the posts into the chemicals that are used will leech into your side boards would be difficult to find but 10 or 12 inch wide ones are used will leech into each.
